Easy Ways to Practice Self-Care.

Do you practice self care? It’s been a buzz word for a while now and it seems like everyone’s talking about it. Even though it is a trend right now there’s definitely a lot of benefit to practicing self care. If you’ve been putting it off because you feel like the only way to engage in self care is to book a treatment at an expensive spa or do something extravagant, you’re in the right place. I decided to give you a few easy ways to practice self-care.

Watch Your Favorite Shows.

Seriously, self care doesn’t have to be any bit elaborate thing. Honestly the less complicated the better – who wants their self care to be MORE work?! Doing something as simple as taking some time out to watch your favorite show can be a great way to destress. And let’s be honest, you want to keep up with what’s going on with Colton on the Bachelor because what else will you talk to your coworkers about every week?

Turn Off Your Phone.

Before you go into an anxiety ridden panic, stay with us on this one. We’re all on our phones ALL THE TIME. Sometimes it feels next to impossible to actually disconnect and get away. But the nice thing about your phone is you can actually just shut it off (or put it on ‘do not disturb’ setting) for a little bit to disconnect any time you want. Try it out, you’ll probably get SO much done without checking your phone every 2 seconds. No one is updating their Instagram that often anyways, you won’t miss anything.

Eat Better.

Ok, ok we know this is much easier said than done. But let’s face it when we eat better we feel better. It’s pretty difficult to feel like a million bucks when you’re constantly binging on burgers, fries and drinking a few too many glasses of wine at night. Make it an effort to clean up your diet. You can start slow, cut back on how often you’re drinking or eating fast food and work your way up from there. Not only will you start to feel better but the physical benefits of eating better aren’t half bad either.

Exercise and Get Your Body Moving.

Obviously we don’t have to tell you about the physical benefits exercising provides. But more than helping you get into shape, it’s also a great (and easy) way to practice self care. Whether you’re going to the gym, trying a workout class, or even just going on a walk the point is to get your body up and moving. We’d skip trying to hop fences as a workout though, Colton made it look easier than it is.

Get Some Sleep.

Why didn’t anyone tell us part of adulting was always being tired? WHY ARE WE ALWAYS SO TIRED? Well I guess we can’t be mad, we’re here now doing our best. In all seriousness though make it a point to get more sleep. We’re all really busy and it never seems like there’s a chance to actually catch up on sleep. It’s time to make it a priority. Set a bedtime for yourself every night, take naps, whatever you have to do. JLo says sleep is something she makes a priority and believes keeps her looking so great. If getting more sleep means we can look half as good as JLo…I’m sold.
